The Peer Tutoring Program For Eagle Scouts
The Peer Tutoring Program For Eagle ScoutsIf you are an Eagle Scout and considering a career as a troop leader, or if you're already a troop leader and want to use your leadership experience to better serve your peers, you may find that you are able to participate in the Peer Tutoring Program. The Peer Tutoring Program is a well-liked program among many of the Scout troops around the country. Here is what you need to know about this great program.Peer Tutoring is just what it sounds like. It is the sharing of ideas and information among students. This type of program can be very helpful when teaching a subject such as astronomy, math, or computer science. Many Eagle Scouts participates in the Peer Tutoring Program each year. This program was created in response to the loss of the old-fashioned way of teaching by having students listen to an adult as they learn. Today, this is no longer the case. One of the greatest advantages of Peer Tutoring is that it provides a much more interactive learning environment. In this type of program, students will be spending many hours a week doing hands-on projects with other students, learning from them, and working together. This allows students to really get to know their peers, allowing them to develop great friendships with other students.Another great advantage of the Peer Tutoring Program is that it works great for Eagle Scouts and other youth leaders. The Program can be made even more effective for the leader by bringing in different types of students. Because the program is age appropriate, it can work great for both boys and girls. You can also use the program to help raise self-esteem for both boys and girls. This type of program is quite interesting, because there is usually just one teacher on a daily basis. There is also a variety of teaching styles. Many of the teachers do not stick to the written word; they rely on one of the student's 'real-life' experiences to get the point across. The best way to be successful at Peer Tutoring is to have the student's own experience as well. The student should be able to relate and remember the lesson that they just learned. By teaching using their own experiences, students will enjoy the project and be able to carry it with them throughout their daily lives. In conclusion, Peer Tutoring is a wonderful tool to use when teaching a subject such as astronomy. If you're an Eagle Scout and you're looking for a way to advance in your career, or just to learn more about your peers, you should look into the Peer Tutoring Program.

The advantages of attending an MK tutoring program include:You will enjoy the perks of living in the city of Louisville, Kentucky - the plethora of restaurants, shopping, and entertainment. This is a great advantage for people who want to work while they travel. In addition, because of the natural beauty of the area, you will have an excellent view of the city as well. The quality of life in Louisville is top notch and this extends to your career, as well. Many companies outsource employees to other states and Kentucky is one of the top destinations. This means that when you go on vacation, you will not have to worry about a town that does not offer you what you need or how to live there. You will love the fact that many of the people in the city are self-employed, as they often have families to care for.The whole place is very healthy and well organized. There are multiple colleges and universities in the city, which means that it is easy to find jobs and also to attend classes that interest you. Also, if you want to live in a city that is much like the one you grew up in, this is a huge plus. There are many tax incentives available to residents of Kentucky, so those who have an employer that provides an income tax credit can take advantage of this to their advantage. Since so many people relocate to the region, this is a major advantage for those who are considering moving here. Not only will the physical environment and the educational options be attractive to you, but there is the added benefit of living in a university town. You will find that your child is much closer to home and, in fact, they will even be a part of the community as well. While it is true that tuition rates at some of the larger univer sities in Kentucky can be extremely high, when you consider the many benefits offered by online learning programs, such as tutoring, you will see that you are getting a significantly higher rate. This is especially true if you travel frequently, as travel and a chance to live in the city is an excellent way to stay connected with your education and allow yourself to build a better future for your child.

Algebra 2 Math Games That Will Teach Your Child More Than Just Algebra
Algebra 2 Math Games That Will Teach Your Child More Than Just AlgebraMany parents would be surprised to learn that math games based on something like Slader Help can actually help their children better understand math. There are many reasons why you should encourage your children to engage in these types of games, but primarily it is all about keeping them active and engaged in learning the concepts. Even if you do not have your own math game for this purpose, the ones you get from Slader Help will work just fine.Your child can really experience the different levels of interaction they have with the game when you encourage them to apply and experiment with the different abilities they have. Most children who have been playing a math game like this also have participated in other math-based activities that require them to explore math concepts.Math games like Slader Help can provide your child with the same type of help they can have with their actual lessons in math. You can have yo ur child choose from a number of interactive puzzles that allow them to solve problems and explore math concepts in their own way. Then once they have solved the puzzle, they can either solve another one or even go on to a game where they can play against others on a computer to see who gets the highest score.Slader Help is ideal for using as a way to help your child learn math. The more they are able to engage in the interactive puzzles, the better they will understand math concepts and it will become easier for them to apply and master math concepts at home. The more you encourage your child to understand and apply the concepts taught in math classes, the better they will become at math at school. At the same time, this is also the perfect opportunity for them to work on the concepts taught in math classes at school. They will be more motivated to study math as soon as they have mastered one of the puzzles and there will be fewer distractions for them to get them distracted. It is very likely that the more they practice math concepts, the more comfortable they will become with the concepts, allowing them to think about a problem more carefully and applying the concepts correctly. This also has a good chance of getting them to develop a better understanding of math and get them excited about math classes. So, no matter what level they are at in math at home, they will also develop the ability to perform well in math class. And they will develop a greater interest in learning math as they play through the different math games available at Slader Help.Algebra 2 games like this are not just for the older children, because it can also be great fun for the younger ones too. Young children learn more quickly because they are always engaged and playing games. Encouraging them to play the math games at Slader Help can help them learn the concepts more quickly and this will make learning math a lot easier for them.
How to Become a Drum Teacher
How to Become a Drum Teacher How Would You Like to be a Drum Teacher? ChaptersBeing a Drum Teacher in a SchoolFor the Drummer Who Has Not Attended UniBecoming a Private Drum TeacherOne has to wonder: how many people learn to play the drums strictly for the purpose of becoming a teacher of drumming?Did you pick up your first pair of drumsticks with the intent of developing a pedagogy that will make you the Mr. Holland of percussion?Of all the reasons to play the drums â" and there are many good ones!, the most likely reasons people learn how to beat a drum is to express themselves creatively and/or because someone they admire also plays. There are plenty of admirable drummers out there to emulate, and that is a part of the problem. The phrase Itâs lonely at the top is apt: only so many drummers form the backbeat to big-name acts, and the percentage of drummers who land regular gigs is actually relatively small. What happens to the rest of the drummers out there?Common sense dictates that, rather than hold out of that big break that may or may not ever come no matter how good you are; rather than starve, one must find a way to earn a living.Teaching is a time-honoured way to do so.If youâre between gigs just now, why not ply your skill at drumming in a classroom, or by teaching the drums one to one?Consider this your roadmap of sorts, one that will help you find a satisfying gig: awakening the passion you feel for drums in young (or not so young) learners.11 conservatoires or music schools of renown in the UK, or if you have graduated from one of said schools, then congratulations: you are already on your way to becoming a music teacher. To teach in a public or private school in our country, at primary or secondary level, you must have at least a Bachelorâs degree in your chosen field. To teach at university, you would need a Masterâs degree or higher. So, if you are still at the garage band stage, or even if youâve played at local venues such as summer festivals, but have not yet formalised your knowledge of drums by earning a degree...You are well ahead of the crowds: your audition will be stellar!Yes, you must audition in order to gain entry to some of those schools. You will also need A-levels but, as far as we know, there is no such exam for drumming. Therefore, you may need to select music theory for one of your A-level topics. And you should know more about percussion instruments: timpani for example, and xylophones, cowbells, a cajon, congas and bongos; gongs, and more about cymbals that donât figure on a standard drum kit.Depending on which school you select, you will spend three to four years in class, but you will also participate in concerts, ensembles... and may even be invited to perform around the community!Perhaps the best part about formalising your music education is the networking and connections youâll make.As you launch yourself into the world of teaching the drums, your university classmates and instructors will be indispensable: to guide and advise you, to vent your frustrations to and to share your successes with. After all is said and done, what type of drumming would you teach in secondary schools?Marching band â" if your prospective school doesnât yet have one, you may start it!orchestra and symphonypercussion ensemblejazz drummingThe choices are endless! Agree on the date and the length of the class, post a flier in the window and get ready to teach!Donât forget to make use of your social media to promote your clinic: contact everyone on your list and ask them to pass word of your clinic on.You never know who knows a fledgeling drummer; besides, word of mouth is the best form of adverti sing!Drum WorkshopsSimilar to a clinic, a drum workshop places you in front of a group of students mad for drumming.Unlike a clinic, a workshop addresses a specific aspect of drumming: how to change a drum head or tuning drums, how to play quarter-note, eighth-note and 16th note fills, or learning the first 10 drum rudiments.Clinics tend to be standalone events but workshops can be ongoing. The benefit to you, as a drum teacher, would be that you could establish an entire curriculum on teaching the drums and deliver it through a series of workshops! For both clinics and workshops, you should consider several factors:the age/size of the participants you hope to teachwhether you would teach beginners, intermediate or more advanced drummerswhat style of music/type of drumming you may teach â" African drumming, jazz drumming, rock drumming and so on.Equipment availabilityif you teach African drumming, you should have a few djembe on hand, for exampleAs a rule, music store owners are a ve ry generous lot, but they certainly wouldnât want their kick drums being kicked by overly enthusiastic feet! So, should you again call upon your local music store manager to permit a workshop, make sure to define what drums s/he will make available to your students.Let us say you want to teach how to paradiddle: you might appeal for the use of a few snare drums and drumsticks for your students.Or you might use practice pads! The benefit of hosting such events in a music store is that you are building a symbiotic relationship with the store owner. You may pay a small fee for renting the space; in return, the store gets a lot of traffic and publicity and, depending on how well you teach, possibly a few sales!Gaining exposure in such a manner will open the door to establishing yourself as a private drum teacher. You may also consider partnering with local music teachers and music stores to host a band camp.In consideration with your smaller students, you should have appropriately sized s ticks and a junior drum kit Source: Pixabay Credit: The Dan WBecoming a Private Drum TeacherIf you have a drum set at home just lying around, gathering dust because youâve got a new kit that you gig with, you might put it to use by giving drum lessons in your home.Contrary to teaching in a public school, you do not need any formal credentials to teach the drums as an independent teacher. But you do need an idea of how to teach the drums, and some equipment to teach with!Again, depending on the size and age of the students you anticipate teaching, you may need a junior drumset, but at the very least, you should have an assortment of sticks, brushes and mallets, drum notation and safety gear, such as headphones and grip exercisers. And, obviously, a metronome! The contacts you made hosting clinics and workshops may be your first students. To widen that net, you may hit social media to advertise your classes, and you may even establish a profile as a drum teacher on Superprof! How would you feel about giving free drum lessons? You might be surprised at the lure giving your first drum lesson for free is for prospective clients! Many Superprof drum teachers offer their first hour of lessons at no charge so that they can assess their studentsâ potential and discuss teaching methodology.Have you been thinking how convenient online tutoring jobs would be?If you want to teach people how to play the drums, you need only 3 things: a passion for drumming and for teaching, a drumkit to teach on, and students.Your talent at playing drums could easily parlay itself into a satisfying career teaching drums, provided you have solid teaching abilities, a well-rounded curriculum and a lot of patience. Not every good drummer makes a good teacher, but if youâve been longing to teach the drums, no doubt that is no concern for you.More likely, once you open your door to that first student, the rest will come flooding in!Talk about finding oneâs groove...Check out a guide to rates fo r drum classes.
2 Ways Introverts Impact Their Career Goals
Introvert Whisperer / 2 Ways Introverts Impact Their Career Goals 2 Ways Introverts Impact their Career Goals (and what to do) The Importance of Understanding Who You Are If youre reading this, chances are you are an Introvert, or think you are. That probably means you have some idea of specific behaviors associated with your personality. The question I would like you to ponder about your personality is: When or where is your introversion creating issues in your career? I believe its important for you to understand as much as you can about your Introvert personality. I also think you need to have awareness of where it might not be serving you so you can pursue meaningful improvements. In my work with our type of career clients, I started seeing some trends of challenges that were limiting their professional potential. Id like to bring these to your attention for some self-awareness and at the same time, offer some solutions. Issue: Not developing, nurturing and expanding your network. We do like to focus on work and tasks which can often times mean we ignore nurturing our networking and meeting new people. Add to that issue, most of us would rather lick the floor than go to a cocktail party or networking event. I get it. Those things suck the energy right out of your battery and competing with louder more talkative people for talk time is no fun. In other words, there are all sorts of good Introvert reasons this issue exists. Solution: No, Im not going to tell you to turn into an Extravert (notice I spelled it with an a thats me being all proper!) You dont have to become a party gladiator. In fact, all you really need to do is to pay attention to people you encounter in your job. You may have vendors, customers, and co-workers at your disposal. Enough to keep you busy for a long time. Take time every day to get to know these people better. If that circle is too small, no problem. Do you know what your next career step is? Accelerate your career by connecting with your Free Instant Access to my eBook on how to construct your Career SMART Goals! You can also: Get on Linked In and reconnect with college friends and co-workers from previous jobs. Get better acquainted with your neighbors or people in a group you belong to (like religious group, hobby, etc.) Pay attention to the people you encounter like at Starbucks, the gym or your massage therapist. When you really get the wheels turning, youll suddenly discover tons of people out there you can get to know fairly easily. This also plays to our personality of forming and nurturing relationships one person at a time. Pure gold! Issue: Not developing relationships with decision makers. While were busy ignoring our network, we are usually ignoring relationships with upper management. This kind of behavior is sometimes looked at with disdain because it can come off as a suck-up. Im here to say, its important and which would you rather have: 1- the high moral ground that youre not a suck-up or 2- a promotion? I hope you picked #2. You need to understand that management is the decision makers over your next promotion or opportunity to excel. They need to know 2 things about you: 1- What and how you are doing that is noteworthy, especially to them. 2- Whether or not you get it about whats important to them. In order for your leader to know these things, you need to develop a working relationship with them. They need to know not only how you do your work, they need to know if you have their back. In other words, do you know and understand their priorities? The only way is if you spend time with them, develop a relationship and support whats important to them. Yes, its all about them. It always is. Your customer is the big C or management or both. Until your customer knows you understand whats important to them and will support them, decisions will go to others. Understanding your personality is important as long as you understand how to lean into the parts that work well for you and have strategies for the parts that dont work as well. The strategies for improvement are simple but powerful for your long-term success. Do you know what your next career step is? Many people donât.
